Sarah is an experienced early childhood professional with 35 years in the sector, working across roles including early childhood teacher, educational leader, and director. She has played a key part in establishing three early learning services across the ACT, with St Luke’s Deakin becoming the fourth service she has helped bring to life.
She is passionate about creating rich, meaningful learning environments and designing irresistible experiences that invite children to explore, wonder, and grow. Sarah deeply believes in the competence and capability of every child, and knows that when educators truly see children’s potential, remarkable learning can unfold.
A strong advocate for trauma‑informed care and education, she is committed to ensuring all children and families feel safe, supported, and understood. She champions practices that honour each child’s unique story, strengths, and needs, and values the role of educators in nurturing secure, trusting relationships.
Sarah has also co‑authored two early childhood books — ABC Canberra: A Beautiful City and A Walk in the Park.
